Minister Calandra’s political games are costing children’s futures more than just milkshakes

OTTAWA – Ontario NDP Shadow Minister for Education Chandra Pasma (Ottawa West – Nepean) is questioning Minister Calandra’s motives for going after minute details of school board trustees' expenses, as kids continue to struggle in overcrowded classrooms:

“Calandra is chasing after milkshake expenses while taking billions out of our classrooms and wasting thousands of taxpayer dollars on fancy meals for himself,” said Pasma.

“The Minister's attempt to shut parents and local community voices out of our schools is not helping our kids. He needs to focus on doing his job and invest in our classrooms, instead of playing political games with our kids’ futures. When the number of boards in deficit are going up, it’s very clear that this is not a management issue, it is a funding issue.”
